The worst part of Noblegarden being pushed back this year was that it has overlapped with our current holiday, Children’s Week. I have decided not to write up my usual blog post regarding the holiday and it’s many achievements. This is due to a few factors, most being burnt out from the last holiday grind just a few days ago.

I am also embarking on a new project very soon, and have been preparing for that a great deal. I will have more information on my new project very soon.

Thanks for hopping on over to come celebrate the great Feast of Noblegarden with me! The meaning of the Holiday goes way beyond just collecting beautifully decorated eggs and eating chocolate (although I really do love that part); it is a time to come together as a community and share the joys of life and friendship. The event runs from Sunday, April 26th until Saturday, May 2nd.

Ok, ok. I know why you are all really here… it’s for the Achievements! Noblegarden is just another stop on this Long, Strange Trip to get our coveted Violet Proto-Drakes. I had a fairly easy time checking each achievement off the list, but I got an early start and kept on hunting until I got the last egg and the last achievement early this morning. It took me about four hours total, and I probably could have done it in less time – but I think that now it may take longer depending on how populated your server is and what times of the day or night you decide to start your egg hunt.

Timing isn’t everything, but it could certainly make this Holiday and its many achievements a little more enjoyable if you pick an off-peak time to work on it. Weekends, of course, will be busy no matter the time of day. My best bets would be late at night, in the mornings, and during times when most people are raiding. Look high and low for eggs! Sometimes they are hidden under benches, and sometimes they are on top of torches!

Where to? The Noblegarden festivities are going on in starting areas, in the small towns situated outside of the major cities. For Alliance, you can head to to Dolanaar, Azure Watch, Kharanos, or Goldshire. For Hordies, you can head to Bloodhoof Village, Brill, Falconwing Square, or Razor Hill. Once at your chosen location, you will find two quest givers with two simple quests. Make sure you pick up both quests before you start, because you can complete them simultaneously.

A Tisket, a Tasket, a Noblegarden Basket: Picking up this quest will give you a useful item that will help you complete the quests and achievements faster: an Egg Basket. This item makes you run faster for 10 seconds, with a 10 second cooldown. (You can only use it in the towns where there are eggs, during Noblegarden, so unfortunately you can’t use this to cap flags like woah in BGs.) For this quest, all you have to do is open up 10 eggs. Each Brightly Colored Egg will either give you Noblegarden Chocolate or a special prize. You need to hand in 10 of these Chocolates, and then you get to keep your Egg Basket!

The Great Egg Hunt: For this quest, all you need to do is open up eggs and receive 20 Brightly Colored Shell Fragments, which will drop from all the eggs you pick while you have this quest. This quest is also a daily quest, so if you decide to spread your festivities out over a few days you can have something extra to do, if you choose.. As a reward for this quest, you will receive a Blossoming Branch. Hang onto this, you will need it for an achievement later!

Now that you have gotten a hang of collecting Brightly Colored Eggs, its time to look over all the achievements needed for the Meta Achievement: Noble Gardener! You will need to open a lot of eggs to get all these achievements completed, on some counts about 350 or so. It’s not so much the chocolates that you are looking for, although you will need those, but the other special prizes they contain.

I Found One! – Find an egg! You already have one done, go you!

Chocoholic – Eat 100 Noblegarden Chocolates during Noblegarden. During this you will also complete Chocolate Lover (to eat 25).Yay Achievement points!

Spring Fling – Find your pet Spring Rabbit another one to “love” in each of the four towns where your faction is celebrating Noblegarden. There are two ways to get your bunny, and it doesn’t matter to the achievement Gods which one you choose. You can either farm eggs endlessly until you get one to drop, or you can farm 100 eggs and buy it from the vendor. In the course of getting all my eggs I actually got two bunnies. My first was less than a half hour into egg hunting. All you have to do to have your bunny “fall in love” is have him out, he will make quick work of everything else on his own.

Noble Garden – While you are passing through Stormwind, on your way to Goldshire, make sure you complete this one. You have to place a Brightly Colored Egg down in Stormwind. You can buy these eggs from the Noblegarden Vendors for 5 chocolates. Don’t forget to open up your own egg once you drop it down. I’ve heard of people getting something they needed from their own eggs. They have the same chances to drop items as regular eggs.

Shake Your Bunny-Maker – Using Spring Flowers, you have to place bunny ears on female characters of at least level 18 of each race. While you are running around getting the Spring Fling achievement, keep your eyes out for the rarer females of your own faction, like Female Dwarves. For your opposite faction, Dalaran seems to work very well. You can sit outside their part of the city and hope one will pass on by. The hardest for me to find were Troll and Orc females. Someone also mentioned to me that you could do this in a Battleground as well. You can get your Spring Flowers the same way as your bunny; either from egg drops, or by purchasing them from the vendor for 50 Chocolates.

Blushing Bride – While you are wearing a White Tuxedo Shirt and Black Tuxedo Pants, kiss someone who is wearing an Elegant Dress. All these clothing items drop from eggs, can be purchased from the Noblegarden vendor, or can be traded because they aren’t soulbound. There are also achievements Sunday’s Finest and Dressed for the Occasion for getting these items from the eggs, although these achievements are not needed to complete the Meta Achievement.

These next two require some traveling, so grab a traveling buddy, because you’ll need a friend for the first one.

Hard Boiled - Lay an egg in Un’Goro Crater’s Golakka Hot Springs as a rabbit. To become a rabbit, you need a friend with a Blossoming Branch. Remember that from earlier, and how I told you to hang onto it? Here’s where it comes into play. Un’Goro is pretty far away from everything else it seems at first glance. But here is my great tip on how to get there faster, for level 80s. Have you and your traveling buddy go to Sholozar Basin. There is a portal in the southern part of the Basin that will take you to Un’Goro. Switch into cat form to lessen your fall damage, or use slowfall or the like, and jump your way down into the Crater. Once you get to the Hot Spring, on the western side, cast your Blossoming Branch on your friend, and have them do the same for you. Once you are a bunny, just wait until you “lay an egg”, and you’ve got the achievement. Now, head up to the flight path before you think of pressing on your hearthstone.

Desert Rose – Use Spring Robes to plant a flower in each of these deserts: The Badlands, Desolace, Silithus, Tanaris, and Thousand Needles. You can get the Robes from eggs or from the vendor. This is the one thing I didn’t have drop for me, so I spent the required 50 Chocolates to pick it up.

Now after you have completed “Hard Boiled” in Un’Goro, take the flightpath to Tanaris.

Once you have landed, put on your robes, and use the item to plant a flower anywhere in Tanaris.

Mount up and ride North into Thousand Needles, then again plant a flower wherever you want. Ride South back to the flightpath in Tanaris.

Take the flightpath to Silithus. Plant flower.

Take the flightpath up to Desolace. Plant another flower.

Take the flightpath to Theramore, hop the boat to Menethil Harbor.

Once you are off the boat, take the flightpath over to Loch Modan, mount up and ride down to the Badlands!

You’re done!

Some extra tips for Egg Hunting:

Yes, people will be camping spawn spots. Be respectful.

You don’t need to camp a spot to get all your eggs. I got most of mine running around.

As a Druid, using your Egg Basket isn’t necessary if you just switch into your seldom used Cheetah form instead. Using the basket for the speed boost while in Cheetah form made me run way too fast and I missed a bunch of eggs.

If someone takes “your egg”, don’t QQ. They respawn really fast, and it really isn’t anyone’s egg until it is in their bag.

If the town you are in is overrun, head to another one.

Noblegarden is supposed to be about being a community and cherishing love and friendship! Don’t be a jerk!

Happy Feast of Noblegarden!

Hope you are all well on your way to your Love Fool titles. On Saturday, Blizzard added a small Hotfix to the Love is in the Air event to “fix” a few things.

RED ROSES – A Bouquet of Red Roses now has a chance to drop off of any boss that also drops the Bouquet of Ebon Roses. I am not sure if these Red Roses will work with the Achievements “Fistful of Love” and “Flirt with Disaster”. (If anyone can confirm or deny, please let me know. ^^ )

BAG OF CANDIES – The drop rate of Bag of Candies was upped, and I would say by quite a bit. I was fortunately able to get my bags of candies, and title, prior to the hotfix. Since then I have gotten four bags of candy in my quest to get Peddlefeet. (Alas, still no luck on that little bugger…)

SILVER SHAFTED ARROWS – This is an undocumented change, because, well, it probably wasn’t something Blizzard wanted to mention was wrong in the first place. My secret “exploit” of how to use them without using them is no longer worked because all the arrows are now insta-cast, removing any chance from get the achievement on easy mode. Don’t fret, these things still drop a ton for me so it shouldn’t set you back too much.

Love is in the Air ends on Monday, February the 16th, so get out there and share you love if you still want a chance at the title!

And so we are are, in the midst of the very short “Love is in the Air” Holiday. The Event runs from February 11th to February 16th.

The majority of the Achievements for this event deal with the various items which you receive from the residents of Darnassus, Stormwind, and Ironforge in exchange for a “Love Token”. In order for them to have any interest in you, however, you have to be wearing their favorite perfume or cologne. The men, of course, are interested in perfumed people, and the ladies the cologned. There are a variety of presents you can get, ranging from Friendship Bracelets to a Bag of Candies. A useful tip regarding collecting presents is to make sure that you always have bag space! If you do not have empty space and try to do your big hourly present, you will not receive it, but will still get the hour Adored debuff. This Holiday has a ton of items, so if you can, dump a bunch of unneeded stuff in your bank before you embark.

There are fourteen Achievements for the event altogether, but luckily only twelve of them are required for the Meta Achievement “Fool For Love” which awards the title: “The Love Fool”. None of the achievements are exceptionally hard to complete, but you do have to hope that the RNGs of WoW are on your side. You will have to be level 80, though, in order to complete the Meta Achieve as you will have to enter into Naxxramas.

Let’s get it on!:

Achievements from items:

HEARTMENDER – Unbreak my hearrrttttt, say you love me AGAAAIIINNN!!! Unbreak 20 other player’s hearts by giving them a friendship bracelet.

SHAFTED! – Shoot 10 players with a Silver Shafted Arrow. Bonus Tip! This is an exploit, so I’m not sure if this is something you can get banned for, but it will cut down your need for 10 arrows down to 1. Throwing the arrow has a cast bar, but the tally for the achievement goes up instantly. If you jump, move, or otherwise cancel the casting, you will not use your arrow, but will get it counted.

FLIRT WITH DISASTER – Step 1: Buy Booze. Lots of it. Step 2. Find Sraaz in IF. He pats around the inner circle of the city, near the flightmaster. Step 3: Put on some perfume. Step 4: Get “completely smashed”. Step 5: Throw rose petals on him. (They have to be petals, and not the petals from the off-hander.) Step 6: /Kiss him. Step 7: Wake up the next morning hung over and confused with many regrets.

THE ROCKET’S PINK GLARE – Shoot 10 rockets in 20 seconds or less. Make sure you have all 10 rockets before you begin and place the item on your action bar. When you use the item you will get a special cursor to place the item where you want, similarly to placing a Great Feast down. Hit the corresponding key and then click the ground repeatingly until you have fired all 10.

NATION OF ADORATION – Get a Gift of Adoration from Darnassus, Ironforge, and Stormwind. Note that this has to be a GIFT not a PLEDGE. Gifts of Adoration come from the civilians, not the guards, of the cities.

FISTFUL OF LOVE - Sprinkle a Handful of Roses on each of 10 unique race/class combinations. Fairly simple to do, until you realize that Troll Rogues and Undead Warriors don’t really exist (at least not often). I was able to get these two hard to find guys by going into the Horde Inn in Dalaran. (Don’t know how to get into the opposing factions Inn? I will discuss it in a future post.)

SWEET TOOTH – Eat four different tasty chocolates. They are contained within the boxes of chocolates that you receive from Gifts or Pledges of Adoration, or from handing in an Alliance Gift Collection to Peddlefeet. Most boxes I got contained all four flavors needed, but these boxes are not rare at all so this should not be very hard to get.

BE MINE! – Use a Bag of Candies to create each of the eight special candy hearts. Each bag will create ten candies, but it is random which one you will get, resulting in many repeats. This one is causing troubles for many people, but I managed to get five from my first bag, and the remaining three from my second bag. (My favorite is “Hot Lips”!)

I PITIED THE FOOL – Use the item “Love Fool” to summon one, and then /pity him. Pity the Love fool in five specific locations:

Wintergrasp: Can be anywhere in WG, whether a battle is taking place or not.

Battle Ring of Gurubashi Arena: This is the arena in STV. You have to be on the floor of the arena, but it does not have to be during the fight for the chest.

Arathi Basin Blacksmith: You have join an AB BG for this, but nothing says you have to stay. If you rush right over to the Blacksmith, which is on the central island, you can complete this part of the achievement before you even need to look at a Horde.

The Culling of Stratholme: You can complete this on normal, but you do have to enter the instance. You can drop your Love Fool right inside the instance, no need to start it up. It is a level 75 instance.

Naxxramas: You need to be inside the Raid instance in order for this to work, even though the summoning area says it is part of Naxx. It is a level 80 Raid instance.

Achievements from special items:

LONELY? – When getting a Pledge or Gift of Adoration, there is a chance that it will drop a Romantic Picnic Basket. However you do not need to get a basket to complete this achievement. You have to be in Dalaran for this to count. If you see anyone set out a picnic in Dalaran, why not join them by clicking on the picnic basket? This will get you and them their achievement. If you set down your own basket, you will have to wait until someone comes and joins you for it to be counted.

MY LOVE IS LIKE A RED, RED ROSE – Obtain a Bouquet of Red or Ebon Roses. The Red Roses are from previous years’ LiitA Holidays. To get a Bouquet of Ebon Roses, get a small group together and head over to Normal Utgarde Keep. The bouquet drops off of the first boss in there. He only drops one, so you will have to run out and reset it each time until everyone gets their Roses. They also drop in Normal HoS and Ahn’Kahet, but I like UK because you don’t need to kill too many mobs before you get to the boss.

LOVELY LUCK IS ON YOUR SIDE - (Not needed for Meta) There is a chance that you will receive a Lovely Black Dress from a Gift or Pledge of Adoration. The fact that it is not part of the Meta makes me think it is a rare drop, but several people I know have gotten this item.

PERMA-PEDDLE – (Not needed for Meta) There is a chance that you will receive a Truesilver Shafted Arrow from a Gift or Pledge of Adoration, which will teach you how to summon Peddlefeet, some sort of creepy goblin cupid dude. This is also not part of the Meta, but rightfully so, as it is the last thing I have yet to complete for the Holiday.

Other Achievements:

NEAREST AND DEAREST - Complete the entire Love is in the Air questline. The quests start in SW and ends in the Hillsbrad Foothills neat Ravenholdt Manor. It is tough to explain how to get exactly to him, so check WoWHead for a useful map. Completing this will also let you pick a fancy outfit: a Blue, Purple, or Red Dinner Suit or a Lovely Blue, Purple, or Red Dress.

Say goodbye to the many Elders scattered across Azeroth; the Lunar Festival ends on Thursday, February 12th. The good news is if you are still interested in getting your Meta Achievement and your “Elder” title, you still have time if you get started with it right now (if you are already level 80). It took me about 14 hours from start to finish to get to all the Elders.

However, the even better news is that a new event starts tomorrow: Love is in the Air! Just with any other WoW Event, this one has plenty of Achievements that go along with. While this event doesn’t require you to traverse the globe, you will have to talk to the Innkeepers of Major cities every hour to get different items you will need to complete the various Achievements. One big downfall to this event is that it only last for six days, meaning that you better hope your Valentine decides to give you ample time to play WoW this weekend instead of a box of chocolates or a dozen red roses.

I will, as usual, have plenty of posts to come once I can dig my claws into this event. I am not overwhelmed with the desire to get the title “Kathoid, the Love Fool”, I still will head into this event full speed ahead so I can write up a helpful guide or two and spend some time on Valentine’s Day with my most favorite Rogue.

WoW Insider already has up a pretty in-depth article on the event, so if you plan on getting started right away I would read up now.

I just loving watching the fireworks, don’t you?!

The Elders of the Dungeons

These are the Elders you really have to work for. There are 13 of them, and many are solo-able, especially as a Night Elf Druid.

BRD and LBRS – Soloable. Blackrock Depths and Blackrock Spire are easy, and even easier with a group. Since you can still use the BRD summoning stone, you might as well and bring a few friends along with you. In BRD just head straight, avoiding the bad guys, until you get in to the Ring of Law. The Elder is right in the middle, so you have to start the event to get to him. Move quickly, because you should be able to get the Elder and get back out before the gate closes and locks you in. InBRS, head up the chain to enter the instance up there, and once inside make a right and then a left and you will be in Hordemar city. Go straight and after you cross the first wooden bridge he will be on the left.

Stratholme - Soloable. It will be easiest to do this if you have the key, someone in your group has the key, or if you bring a Rogue along. The elder is easiest to reach if you go in the back door. Make a left, then a right and you will see the Elder. You should be able to solo this withoutaggroing any mobs, but if you do they are just a few kitty swipes from their final resting place.

Sunken Temple - Soloable. You will have to encounter a few mobs, but at 80 you will have no problem. Go to the left once you enter the instance, and up the long spiral staircase. Make a left at the top of the staircase, and then head to your left around the circle. The elder is in the first nook.

Zul’Farrak – Soloable. This elder is in the same room as where you would use the Mallet of ZF to summon Gahz’Rilla. So if you head to your left once you enter the instance you will reach that room fastest. Don’t forget that ZF is one of the few instances where you can ride your mount to your destination.

Maraudon – Soloable. If you are like me, you have never been to this place before. It is in the lonely area of Desolace, north of the Horde city in the Valley of Spears. Once you head into the instance, continue along the tunnel until you get to a room with three different tunnels to choose from. Take the middle one, with two statues on either side, and head down and take the portal. It will put you in a place that will make you say, “WTF! HOW IS THIS AN INSTANCE!!” and be all confused, as I was when I was trying to figure this place out last night. Head south whenever you can, and you will work your way to the Elder. I used this Map to help me out a lot.

The Nexus – Soloable with cloaking, and can be done on Normal. You will need to be very careful about some of the mobs in here, as they can see through stealth. If you do accidentally aggro one though, you can always run away and Shadowmeld, or fight them. I could kill one with minimal difficultly as feral. Head into Keristraza’z room, and make a right. The Elder is in the same room as Ormorok the Tree Shaper, and I could walk there stealthed with little problems. You just have to be very careful as there are tons of those little flowery mobs around.

Drak’Tharon Keep – Soloable with cloaking, and can be done on Normal. The Elder is in the same room as King Dred, the big T-Rex. There aren’t any mobs that can see through stealth, so all you have to worry about is not stepping on anyone’s toes. The only place that is tricky is the room with the spiders, because the babies run around at a very fast pace. Just take you time and figure out their path, and go when the coast is clear. You can get into the corner by the Elder and not aggro anything even when out of stealth.

Halls of Stone – Soloable with cloaking, and can be done on Normal. Make a right, and then a right again towards Krystallus. Again this is another one where you don’t have to worry about anyone seeing your stealth, but there are little rock dudes who run around haphazardly to watch out for. You can unstealth without being seen if you back is up against the wall by the Elder.

Utgarde Keep – Soloable with cloaking, and can be done on Normal. This one takes a bit more than just cloaking to get through. You will need to have your Shadowmeld ready to go if you want to solo this. In order to move through the room with the flame walls you will need to aggro the Forge Masters. You can either root them, or simply faerie fire them so that they open up the flame walls. Do both in a row and run into the next hallway and Shadowmeld to leave combat. Once you are safe, pop back into kitty form and cloak your way to the Elder.

Utgarde Pinnacle – Need group but can be done on Normal. The Elder is after the boss with the harpoons, Skadi the Ruthless. He is down underneath a staircase. You need a group because you need to kill Skadi in order to open the door to get to the staircase.

Azjol-Nerub – Need group but can be done on Normal. The Elder is located between the second and last boss. You need a group because you have to kill the first and second bosses in order ot clear the way, but because it is a level 70 instance you do not need a full 5 people. After you drop down into the water after the second boss, you will see the Elder off to the side of the lake you land in.

Gundrak – Need group and has to be done on Heroic! This is the only one that has to be done on Heroic, so get your best friends together and go grab some badges. The reason this needs to be done on heroic is because the Elder is in the room with Eck, the big tongue dude. You can only get to Eck on Heroic mode.

Now that my “research” has been done on the Lunar Festival, it’s time for me to spread the wealth of knowledge onto you.

The Lunar Festival is an event held every year by the Alliance and Horde Druids of Moonglade, wherein they celebrate the city’s triumph over ancient evils. During the Lunar Festival, they welcome all races and classes of Azeroth into Moonglade to join in the celebrations and honor their Elders; seeking out and celebrating in their wisdom, and everyone’s favorite: fireworks.

There is, of course, the great beast Omen to defeat. A quest is given in Moonglade to seek out, summon, and defeat him. This has to be done in a raid group, as he is a level 80 Elite boss. And there are fireworks to launch! And some beautiful clothes to buy, too!

But the real draw to this event, and to its accompanying achievement, is to seek out all the Elders of Azeroth and honor them with your presence and a few mouse clicks. They are scattered across capital cities of both Alliance and Horde, all of Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, to the great north in Northrend, and into many dungeons across Azeroth (but luckily, not Outland). Finding out where they are is only half the battle – actually getting to where some of these Elders have decided to hang out for the next few weeks is really the hardest part of all.

Just a warning, this took me about 14 hours from start to finish all in one sitting to get the title. Of course I took breaks to eat and what not, but this seemingly easy achievement is very time consuming. So get your Mountain Dew and your Gamer Grub ready: here we go!!!

Elders Elders Everywhere!

There are way too many Elders for me to talk about every single one, especially when it has been done so well by many other people. Here are some links to help you find Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, and Northrend Elders.

WoWWiki is a very good resource and has maps of where each of the Elders are.

WoWHead also has a very nice guide put together on the Lunar Festival.

Elders of the Alliance & Elders of the Horde

(Written from an Alliance Druid point of view.) Yes, you have to visit both factions Elders. Darnassus, Ironforge, and Stormwind are home to the three Alliance Elders. You can use the special portals from Moonglade, or regular portals from Dalaran or Shattrath to get to the cities. Or you could always rely on a Mage for ports. As for the Horde Elders, I went to the cities when I was near them while visiting other Elders. They are located in Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, and Undercity.

Orgrimmar was the hardest of the three for me, and also where I went first. From the Azshara flight path area I swam down the river south to where the bridge into Org is located. I stealthed in kitty form into the city, carefully hugging walls and avoiding guards to avoid being seen. The Elder is located right by Thrall’s house in The Valley of Wisdom, so if you have raided on Org before you will know the location. Unfortunately you have to un-stealth to talk to the elder, but luckily as a Night Elf I have shadowmeld! As soon as you are done talking to an elder, run a little bit away, make sure no guards or players are too close, and use Shadowmeld. Wait a few seconds then pop back into kitty form and stealth once again. If you are working towards your “Salty” title, make sure you head over to The Valley of Spirits or Valley of Honor and do a little fishing. For the Fishing Diplomat achievement, all you need is to fish up one thing and then you are good to stealth or hearth out. I chose to die and then spirit rez which put me right next to another Elder I needed.

Thunder Bluff should be easy for anyone, whether you can stealth or not. It is not a very popular city so as long as you can dodge the guards you will be fine. This Elder is located in the (duh!) Elder Rise. This Elder is new this year, and you may recognize his name: Ezra Wheathoof. Ezra was a brain cancer sufferer who through Make-A-Wish got to spend some time at Blizzard and influenced the creation of the Pheonix mount. He sadly passed away last year, and this is yet another tribute to him in game. I spent some extra time with him while in Thunder Bluff this year.

The Undercity is probably the easiest of the three Horde cities for an Alliance to visit. If you go in the front entrance the Elder is above ground before the elevators. You should be able to run in on your mount, talk to him quickly, and mount back up and run away.

Don’t forget that there are starting level towns by each of the major cities that you need to visit: Brill, Dolonaar, Goldshire, etc.

In the next post I will cover all the Elders of the Dungeons!
